Photo Paphiopedilum haininense is a small species, closely allied to Paph. appletonianum. The plant is generally somewhat smaller than 12" tip to tip with mottled leaves. A single flower is carried atop a short 6-8" spike. The blooms are 3-4" across pink at the tips shading darker towards the center, the pouch is dark, the dorsal is apple green. We grow these in a fine fir bark mix right along side our Maudiae types, light 1200 FC, temps 60-85, watering just as the media is beginning to dry. We mist them around noon daily.
